  • I moved up the corporate ladder to head new business development, before owning my own businesses.
  • Over the past 17 years, I've helped over 200 small-business owners reach new heights, or turn their companies into profitable, viable and financially sustainable assets. I have also had great success assisting marketing and sales teams and individuals to regularly achieve their targets by using my proven tools and techniques, with only two failures (both franchisees).
  • As time is no longer on my side, I'm sharing my knowledge, expertise and experience through online courses. My marketing course has enrolled over 640 global students with a course rating of 4.47 out of 5 stars.
  • I built one of my businesses from 0 to 34,000 members, administering client funds in excess of USD 3.2 million per year, over a period of 5 years.
  • I developed my own tools and techniques to achieve my sales targets consistently, and as easily as possible.
  • I'm the author of Turning Hot Ideas Into Money.

I mention all this here, just to clarify that when I talk about sales and marketing, I do so from actual experience

My basic drive is all about increasing sales profitably with the least effort for the greatest reward.


Highly successful businesses are created by giving the right product to the right audience with the right awareness.


Tips, tactics and information can only get you so far – there is simply no substitute for experience.

What is Marketing Guru About?

The foundation of any serious business is a product or a service. Marketing Guru is about everything you need to market (and sell) valuable products & to build an audience of profitable customers.


There are four things your business needs to thrive: a realistic, achievable financial goal; a qualified base of A/B customers; profitable products the marketplace is wanting to buy; and marketing campaigns that convert into sales. These aspects are covered in depth, on this site.


However, the right tools and techniques aren't enough. Many small business owners fail and it has nothing to do with a lack of knowledge or access to expertise. Instead, it has everything to do with their character, mindset and work ethic.


You cannot have a highly successful business without developing the character of a highly successful entrepreneur.

My Sales and Marketing Story

I started my sales career in a morning job selling healthcare plans to small businesses. With zero knowledge and experience in sales, I was the least likely to become a salesperson. In those days, there was no Internet nor mobile phones, but to look the part, I needed a briefcase. During the purchase of this briefcase, I sold my first plan!


From small business selling, I moved on to corporate selling. I identified my target of large employers on the stock exchange and went after them. Challenge, rather than money motivated me to succeed.


My success was largely due to belief! Believing in myself (I can do this), my product (a huge benefit for others) and my employer (to deliver on my promises).


Working in the corporate environment, I was fortunate to be enrolled in a variety of internationally approved sales and marketing courses. Consequently, I developed my own tools and techniques to achieve my sales targets consistently, and as easily as possible. My proven methods excelled expectations and I was even asked by one of my employers not to bring any more customers on board as the company needed to consolidate the existing and new customer base!


My portfolio over the years included all the elements related to marketing and selling, as well as product development and taking products to the marketplace (i.e. compiling marketing material and launching awareness campaigns).


I've studied Internet Marketing thoroughly as I strongly believe it must be part of any sales person's marketing arsenal to generate leads and sales. With help from numerous eminent internet marketing mentors, this has been a wonderful journey and an incredible learning experience.
